INFORMATION FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS
AT THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF SOFIA



I. Admission requirements, application documents, selection procedure

All foreign applicants to the TU of Sofia must possess a secondary education diploma that enables them to study at higher education institutions in the country where they have completed their secondary education.

Application documents:
  1. Completed application form containing brief information about the applicant and the title of the degree course he/she wishes to take;
  2. Copy of the applicant's secondary education diploma when applying for a complete term of training;
  3. A document, issued by a competent institution, which certifies the candidate`s eligibility to continue his/her education in all Higher Edicational Institutes located in the country where the high school diploma was obtained.
  4. Transcript when applying for part of a training course;
  5. Health certificate issued within one month of the date of application and certified by the relevant authorities of the country of the applicant;
  6. Copy of applicants passport page with his/her photograph, names, passport expirity date and place of birght
  7. Four photographs.

The documents described in items 2, 3, 4 and 5 must be translated, legalized and certified by the Consular Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the country where they are issued. If no such department is available, the documents are legalized according to the general procedure of document legalization, translation and certification. 
For Turkey certification of documents is executed at the respective place of residence by a Regional/District Governor (Vali). To apply to the Sofia Technical University (STU), submit these legalized documents. Following approval of the application, the original documents and 1 (one) copies are submitted by STU to the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MES). MES issues a Certificate which is presented to the Bulgarian Consulate or the Bulgarian Embassy along with an document for a paid application fee. It is advisable to submit application documents 2 (two) months before the beginning of the academic year (Sept. 13, 2010) due to the long procedure for issuing a student visa. 
The documents are to be delivered in one of the following ways:


The year in which the applicant for part of a training course will be enrolled is determined by the Foreign Students Department of the TU of Sofia on the basis of the information included in the transcript presented. 

II. Tuition of foreign students

Before starting their degree program foreign students take a ten-month preparatory course in Bulgarian or English. During the second semester of their studies they are trained and sit examinations in some subjects (mathematics, physics and information technology) which enables them to adapt quickly to the educational process at the TU of Sofia. The students successfully completed this preparatory course are awarded sertifacates.
The applicants who speak Bulgarian, English, German or French take an examination in this language. Those who pass the examination are enrolled in the first year of the degree course of their choice without any entrance examination. 
The regular term for full-time courses is four years. Graduates are awarded the educational and qualification degree of bachelor. If students wish to receive the degree of master in the relevant field they may continue their studies for one and a half years after the acquisition of the bachelor's degree. It is permissible to sign up for a Master's degree in a major, different from the one of the Bachelor's degree. In such circumstances the instruction begins with a "preparatory" semester (at least 6 disciplines) to acquire basic knowledge of the disciplines forming the chosen Master's specialization. 
After successful completion of the full course of training the TU of Sofia issues an foreignly acknowledged bachelor's or master's diploma with a supplement indicating the number of periods attended in each of the subjects studied and the grades received.

III. Tuition fees and enrollment of students

The tuition fees are determined by a decree of the Council of Ministers on a yearly basis. For the academic 2010-2011 for a full-time course they are as follows: Students with dual citizenship are responsible for 50% of the full tuition.

Student who has the desire is accommodated at a hostel if can posibility. The rent is approximately 50 EUR. 
The monthly cost of living is approximately 200 EUR per person.

An entry visa for the Republic of Bulgaria can be obtained from the Bulgarian Embassy in the corresponding country on presentation of a letter informing about the applicant's admission to the TU of Sofia, bank statement certifying the payment of the tuition fee for the first semester, and a passport valid until October of the year of application.

YABANCILAR VE TÜRKİYE CUMHURİYETİ ÜNIVERSİTE 
ADAYLARINA SOFYA TEKNİK ÜNİVERSİTESİNDE BİLDİRİ

I. Kayıt için gereken şartlar ve belgeler.

Sofya Teknik Üniversitesi’ne kayıdını yaptırabilmesi için bir yabancı öğrencinin, Liseyi bitirmiş olması gerekli.

Gereken belgeler:

  1. Dilekçe örneği, sizinle ve tercih etiğiniz bölümle ilgili bilgiler içeren.
  2. Lise diplomasının fotokopisi – normal eğtim süresi için.
  3. Derslerin ayrıntılı dökümü – yatay geçiş için.
  4. Diplomanın yetkili makam tarafından verilmiş olması ve de yetkili devlet organları tarafından desteklenmesi gerekir. Ülkenin yüksek eğtim kurumlarına başvurma şartlarını taşıması gerekir
  5. Sağlık raporu, kayıt yaptırma tarihinden en geç bir ay önce çıkarılmış ve onaylanmış olmalı.
  6. ÖSS’de Sofya Teknik Üniversitesi’ni kazananlar, kazandıklarına dahil belge getirmelidir.
  7. Eğer çifte vatandaşlığnız var ise isim özdeşlik belgesi gerekmektedir.
  8. 4 adet fotoğraf.

Yukarıda sayılan 2, 3, 4, 5 ve 6 numaralı evraklar tercüme edilmiş, noterlikçe onaylanmış ve valilik makamınca APOSTIL mührü vurulmuş olmalıdır. Evrakların tercümeleri ve yasallaştırılması Bulgaristan da yapılmalıdır. Bu şekilde yasallaştırılmış evraklarla Sofya Teknik Üniversitesine başvurulmalıdır. Bu başvuruların Sofya Teknik Üniversitesince onaylanmasından sonra evraklar orjinal ve kopyası ile birlikte iki örnek olarak Bulgar Milli Egitim Bakanlıgına gönderilir. Bulgar Milli Egitim Bakanlıgının onayından sonra verilecek olan kabul belgesi İstanbul ve Ankara da bulunan Bulgar Konsolosluklarına ögrenci vizesi alırken takdim edilmelidir. Ögrenci visesinin alınmasındaki prosedürün uzunlugu sebebi ile başvuracak ögrencilerin egitim ögretim yilinin başlamasından iki ay once başvurmaları önerilir. (13.09.2010)

II. Kabul edilen öğrencilerin eğtimi.

Kabul edilen öğrenciler normal eğtimden önce on aylık dil eğtim kursu görmektedirler, bulgarca veya ingilizce olmak üzere.İngilizce kursu “Еndüstri Mühendisliği (İngilizce)” bölümünü seçenler içindir. İkinci dönemde ise /matematik, fizik ve bilgisayar/ gibi temel dersler öğretilerek bu derslerden sınava tabi olurlar ve bu şekilde öğrencinin üniversiteye daha çabuk adapte olması sağlamaktadır.

Bu kursları başarı ile bitirenlere diploma verilmektedir.

Sofya Teknik Üniversitesi’nde normal eğtim dört yıl, açık öğretim ise beş yıldır. Başarılı olan öğrenciler “ yüksek lisans” yapmak isterlerse daha 1.5 yıl eğtim görmektedirler.

Sofya Teknik Üniversitesi’nden başarı ile mezun olan öğrencilere Uluslararası geçerli olan diploma ve belgeler verilmektedir.

Ögrencilerin üniversite yurtlarına yerleştirilmesi üniversitenin imkan ve olanakları ile sınırlıdır. Odalar iki ve üç kişilik olmak üzere iki çeşittir. Aylık kiraları ise 50 € arasında degismektedir.

Bir öğrencinin aylık gideri ortalama 200 € civarındadır.

III. Eğtim harçları, öğrenci kayıtları.

Hazırlık kursları için yıllık harc bedeli 2500 €, normal dört yıllık öğrenim için ise yıllık 3000 €ödenmektedir. Ödeme öğrenci okula kaydını yaptırdıktan sonra sekreterlikten gönderilen uyarı mektubundan sonra yapılmaktadır.Okul harcı her sene dönem başlarında iki eşit taksit halinde ödenir.Çifte vatandaşlığı olan öğrenciler bu harcın % 50 sini ödemektedir.

Bulgaristana giriş için gerekli olan vizeyi Türkiye’deki Bulgar konsolosluğundan, Sofya Teknik Üniversitesi’ne kayıt yaptırdığnıza dair belgeler ile ve ödediğniz harc bordorosu ile rahatlıkla alabilirsiniz.
